HR Owen has topped the salary charts of dealers in the Top 200 Dealer Groups paying an average employee salary of £50,287.
The top-end dealer group narrowly edged out TC Harrison Group into second place followed by Jemca, Park Lane BMW and Sandal Group.
Report author Chris Oakham commented on the overall salaries for the Top 200 said: “There are 196 groups with accounts from June 2021 for which there are full details of wages and salaries.
“The weighted average salary for these groups is £34,546, some 32% more than the national average for all UK employees (full and part-time via ONS).
For a year-on-year comparison, there are 185 groups appearing in this and the previous MT Top 200 report.
“On a weighted average basis across these, pay rose 12.5% to £34,597. It appears employees are benefiting from the improving fortunes of motor retailers.
