Drive Motor Retail Bury St Edmunds support local rugby club

Drive Motor Retail’s Bury St Edmunds dealership is supporting the town’s Rugby Union club by providing a vehicle for its community programme.

The car will be used by Bury RUFC’s community team, which coaches approximately 2,000 children at 50 schools across the area each year. The team also runs holiday camps to provide opportunities for children with an interest in playing rugby.

The provision of a car is part of Drive Bury’s support for the club after it signed a two-year sponsorship deal last year.

General manager at Drive Bury St Edmunds, Sarah Ferrari said: “At Drive we are passionate about supporting organisations which are a vital part of their communities and Bury St Edmunds RUFC is a fantastic example of that.

“We are thrilled to have been able to supply a vehicle for the community team to use. It’s clear that the work they do is enriching the lives of young people in the area and we thought that supplying a branded car would contribute to making their job easier.

“Going into partnership with another local organisation was a no-brainer for us as it supports Drive’s pledge to make a difference in the areas our dealerships are based in.”

Will Affleck, partnerships manager at Bury St Edmunds RUFC added: “We rely on support from the local business community so to receive the backing of a well-respected dealership like Drive is only going to benefit us as a club.

“The community team here is the vital link between the club and our local people. They do sterling work underpinning our community club values by coaching in local schools and facilitating our holiday camps, which are now 95% funded.

“Being able to use the vehicle provided by Drive is going to make the work of the team easier, and we are immensely grateful that Drive has chosen to support us in this way.”
