Dealer group Underwoods is to close its Vauxhall dealership in Colchester from 29 April.
The company will continue to provide maintenance and warranty repairs at its Vauxhall Authorised Repairer locations in Clacton, Sudbury and Tiptree.
On its website the company told customers: “Please note that this decision was not one of Underwoods making, as we have been successfully representing Vauxhall in Colchester for over 25 years.
“As I am sure you are aware these are changing times within the motor industry, including online sales. Vauxhall have decided to reduce the number of dealers in their network, with an increased focus towards online sales.
“You will be pleased to learn that our Vauxhall staff will have continued employment.
“We greatly value our customers, and going forward will do everything we can to support and help you to make this as convenient as possible.
At the beginning of April Underwoods announced that it was shtting its Skoda business in Colchester.
The group said it will continue to run authorised Skoda garages in Sudbury and Clacton, offering maintenance and warranty repairs.
